Destiny 2 · Class Guide · Monument of Triumph Sandbox

Titan

The frontline. Titans win by being where the fight is — barricades that reshape a room, melees that one-shot, and ability loops that never stop. The Monument update reworked Titan hard: a new Solar aspect that turns your barricade into a remote bomb (Shieldburst), reworked exotics, and cooldown math that finally rewards balanced stats over single-stat stacking. Built on the Monument baseline, Destiny 2's final content sandbox; these are settled recommendations, not a rotating tier list.

How Titan wins

Three pillars — and the June update leaned into all of them, especially the class ability.

Barricades, reimagined

Towering for cover, Rally for reload/buffs — and now the Shieldburst Solar aspect upgrades both: Towering slides forward as you advance, Rally grants allies scorching rounds, and either one detonates on command when you press your class ability again. The blast grows with damage dealt and scales with your Class stat from 100 up, so Titans finally have a reason to invest there.

Melee that matters

Consecration slams, Frenzied Blades, Thunderclap, Diamond Lance — Titan melees are build-defining and hit like trucks. With Synthoceps or set bonuses they become real boss DPS, and Consecration now stuns Unstoppables natively.

Ability loops

Heart of Inmost Light is the engine: using one ability empowers the other two with faster regen — and crucially it has no stat requirement, which makes it even better now that stat-based cooldowns were capped.

Monument baseline: last gameplay patch Update 9.7.0.3 (2026-07-07). Update 9.7.0.4 (2026-07-28) shipped without notes; Update 9.7.0.5 (2026-10-07) is an anti-cheat back-end fix only. Checked 2026-10-08. Destiny 2 has no further planned content updates — only health/stability hotfixes — so the sandbox is settled and the picks below are Monument-era recommendations, not a rotating seasonal tier list. Only claims on Bungie's active Known Issues list are flagged inline.
01 · The Subclasses

All six, at a glance

Each element gives Titan a distinct flavor of aggression. Prismatic blends Light and Dark for the most flexible kit and is the endgame default.

Solar
Sunbreaker
Super: Hammer of Sol · Burning Maul

Scorch & ignite. Consecration slam is the staple, Roaring Flames ramps melee damage, and the new Shieldburst aspect turns your barricade into explosive utility. Hallowfire Heart got a major rework.

Void
Sentinel
Super: Sentinel Shield · Ward of Dawn

Overshields & control. Ward of Dawn was reworked into a repositionable damage platform. Bastion + Offensive Bulwark keep you and the team shielded.

Arc
Striker
Super: Fists of Havoc · Thundercrash

Speed & shock. Knockout and Touch of Thunder drive amplified melee play, while Thundercrash (with Cuirass) is one of the best burst-DPS Supers in the game.

Stasis
Behemoth
Super: Glacial Quake

Freeze & shatter. Howl of the Storm and Diamond Lance lock down rooms. Buffed Frost Armor and intrinsic Shatter shards make it tankier than ever.

Strand
Berserker
Super: Bladefury

Suspend & sustain. Banner of War heals and ramps melee damage for the whole team — arguably Titan's best survivability tool. Drengr's Lash suspends.

Prismatic
Prismatic
Super: Twilight Arsenal · Thundercrash…

Mix Consecration + Knockout + Diamond Lance + suspend, plus Transcendence. Run the Stoicism exotic class item. The most complete Titan kit for endgame.

02 · Meta Builds

Five builds worth running

Current Monument of Triumph setups. Note the theme: with Super-from-boss-damage nerfed and cooldowns capped, the strongest builds generate energy through kills and loops, not raw stat thresholds.

ArtifactHunter's Journal · Prismatic / sniper DPS support
SuperThundercrash (DPS) / Twilight Arsenal
MeleeConsecration
AspectsConsecration · Knockout
FacetsBalance · Blessing · Courage · Protection
WeaponsAny add-clear primary + your chase exotic
How it plays: Inmost Light + Balance keep all three abilities cycling so fast the cooldown cap barely matters, while Blessing, Courage, and Protection make the Consecration brawl hit harder and survive longer. Synthoceps spikes melee and Super damage when surrounded; Thundercrash closes DPS phases. Consecration stuns Unstoppables for free. Armor: Brawler or Bulwark · ~100 Melee + Health, then spread.

How it plays: While your Super is charged, final blows stack Sunfire Furnace — boosting grenade/class regen and Super damage, igniting on grenade and barricade kills, then dumping back into Super energy when you exit. Pairs beautifully with the new Shieldburst barricade. A self-sustaining ignite engine. Armor: Grenadier or Siege Breaker · lean Grenade + Class for Shieldburst.

ClassRally Barricade
How it plays: A melee, finisher or Sword kill raises Banner of War; kills by you and nearby allies charge it, and it pulses healing and boosts melee and Sword damage. With suspend from Drengr's Lash for crowd control, you become an almost unkillable bruiser — the go-to for solo Grandmasters and dungeons. Armor: Brawler · Melee primary, Health secondary for the tank loop.

How it plays: Cuirass turns Thundercrash into a single massive nuke for boss burst windows — slot it as your "delete" button alongside a heavy weapon rotation. With Super-from-boss-damage nerfed this patch, treat the Super as one big hit, not something you'll get back mid-phase. Armor: Paragon or Powerhouse · Super for the burst, Weapons for the rotation.

WeaponsHigh-damage heavy for inside the dome
ClassTowering Barricade
How it plays: The reworked Ward of Dawn grants Void overshield and weapon damage inside, weakens enemies caught in it, and can be repositioned — turning the bubble from a panic button into a real damage platform for your fireteam. Saint-14 extends it and grants Weapons of Light. Armor: Bulwark or Colossus · Health + Super to keep the dome flowing.
Exotic shortlist: Heart of Inmost Light (universal ability loop, no stat req — top tier now), Synthoceps (surrounded melee/Super), Cuirass of the Falling Star (Thundercrash DPS), Hallowfire Heart (reworked Solar engine), Loreley Splendor (Solar self-heal), and Stoicism (Prismatic class item). All post-Edge-of-Fate exotics are now Tier 5, so your old rolls are fine.
Everyday builds · bring your own exotic

Weapon-agnostic engines for general play: the loop lives in the exotic armor + subclass, so drop in whatever exotic weapon you're leveling a catalyst on. (Lock specific weapons for raids and DPS — see the central slotting rules.)

All subclasses
Heart of Inmost Light
Weapon: anything

Using one ability empowers the other two with faster regen — no stat requirement, works on every subclass. The purest bring-your-own-gun engine.

Solar · Sunbreaker
Loreley Splendor
Weapon: anything

Your barricade and low-health moments spawn healing Sunspots that keep you standing through almost anything. Survival from the kit alone.

Stasis · Behemoth
Hoarfrost-Z
Weapon: anything

Your barricade becomes a Stasis crystal wall for cover and control; pair it with shard/Frost Armor sources for damage resist. Control and tankiness with any weapon.

03 · Fragments

Key fragments by element

Titan fragments should protect the brawl, extend elemental keywords, and feed the ability loop. These are the reliable picks behind the builds above.

Solar · Embers
Sunbreaker

Ashes — apply more scorch stacks, accelerating ignitions.
Searing — scorched kills grant melee energy and a Firesprite.
Torches — powered melee hits make you and allies Radiant.
Singeing — scorched targets recharge class ability faster for Shieldburst uptime.

Void · Echoes
Sentinel

Persistence — overshields and Devour last longer.
Starvation — Orbs and Void Breaches grant Devour.
Undermining — Void grenades weaken targets before the push.
Vigilance — kills while your shields are depleted grant a Void overshield.

Arc · Sparks
Striker

Resistance — damage resistance while surrounded.
Shock — Arc grenades jolt targets for room-wide chains.
Ions — jolted kills create Ionic Traces.
Magnitude — lingering Arc grenades last longer.

Stasis · Whispers
Behemoth

Rime — Frost Armor lasts longer and stacks higher.
Fissures — shatter bursts hit harder and wider.
Shards — shattering crystals speeds grenade recharge.
Torment — taking damage grants grenade energy.

Strand · Threads
Berserker

Warding — Orbs grant Woven Mail, the survivability floor.
Fury — damaging targets with Tangles grants melee energy.
Generation — dealing damage builds grenade energy.
Continuity — Suspend, Unravel, and Sever last longer.

On Prismatic: Prismatic uses Facets. Consecration Titan usually starts with Balance, Blessing, Courage, and Protection; swap to Sacrifice if your class-item roll already solves survivability and you want faster Transcendence.
04 · Wiring It Up

Buildcraft after the June patch

The Monument of Triumph sandbox changed how you should spend stats. Read this before you copy an old build.

Stats: spread, don't dump

  • The max cooldown bonus from a stat was cut to 125% (from 190%). Stacking one ability stat to 100 with nothing else is now penalized.
  • Practical rule: get your main ability stat to ~100, then distribute the rest instead of ignoring them.
  • Class stat is newly valuable — several class abilities (incl. the Shieldburst detonation) now scale past 100.
  • Lean on kill-driven loops, set bonuses, and Inmost Light for uptime rather than raw stat thresholds.

Mods & archetypes

  • Melee builds → Brawler armor; grenade/Shieldburst → Grenadier/Siege Breaker; Super DPS → Paragon/Powerhouse.
  • Mods: Siphon helmet mod (Kinetic, Harmonic or the matching element), arms Firepower/Heavy Handed, chest resists/ammo generation, leg Weapon Surge matching the weekly element, and class-item Bomber/Distribution.
  • Champions: Consecration stuns Unstoppable natively; cover Barrier/Overload with intrinsic weapon frames — anti-champion rides the frames now, not the Artifact (see the weapon guide).
  • Run two 2-piece set bonuses for flexibility, or a 4-piece for specialized endgame.
Quick start: the Prismatic Stoicism build (Consecration + Knockout + Inmost Light) is the most forgiving entry point — near-infinite ability uptime, strong survivability, and it scales into the hardest content. Branch into Solar Sunbreaker or Strand Banner of War once you're comfortable, then use the fragment section above to tune sustain versus damage.
05 · Crucible

Titan in PvP

A starter kit, not a full PvP guide — the duel-first detail lives in the PvP spine.

The space-taker

Titan wins ground: barricades you bring with you, overshields, and melee threat let you push a lane and hold it against the peek war.

  • Barricade is portable cover. Drop it to deny a sightline or reset a fight — not just for the class-ability perk.
  • Win the close band. Use overshields and melee pressure to take the short-range trades, then force fights into your range.
  • Anchor Weapons + Health, set Class for barricade uptime, then spread (~100 in your main stat, not 200).
