Read this first
Vesper's Host is a Deep Stone Crypt sequel in dungeon form: the same Scanner / Operator / Suppressor augments, but tighter, with nuclear cores to carry and a radiation timer that kills if you dawdle. This is the hardest non-traversal dungeon on the roster — it lives or dies on who holds which augment.
What wipes most groups
It's almost never the boss damage. Groups die to role confusion and the radiation timer:
The Operator shoots the wrong panel and dies instantly. Confirm the number before you fire.
A nuclear core carrier hoards radiation — stacks tick up and kill you. Hand off and pick up cores in a rhythm.
Augments expire after ~1 minute if not deposited. Whoever grabs one is on a clock.
What old guides get wrong
Two things to ignore from older videos:
The chase weapon is often miscalled. The dungeon's legendaries are the "VS" set (Chill Inhibitor, Gravitic Arrest, Velocity Baton, Pyroelectric Propellant) — not "Tinasha's Mastery," which belongs to a different activity.
Ice Breaker is an RNG drop from the final boss, not a guaranteed first-clear reward. Triumphs improve the odds; the catalyst is a separate puzzle.
The Fiction
Why you're here
The augment terminals and corrupted crew below aren't arbitrary — you are boarding a Deep Stone Crypt twin that something has already seized. Here's the story the dungeon is telling while you solve it.
Vesper Station, in Europa's orbit
On the Spider's tip you board Vesper Station — a derelict BrayTech installation over Europa, built as a twin to the Deep Stone Crypt. That is why the whole place runs on the Crypt's protocols: Scanner, Operator and Suppressor augments, now twisted by corruption.
Something has already taken the station and is channeling its power into a mysterious megastructure. What's steering the crew is a familiar problem — an Exo mind that survives by copying itself, and the corrupted operator you'll face is a reminder that this place was made to defeat death.
Commandeer BrayTech's own systems, take the swarm apart, and shut the station down before its resurrection-machinery is loosed again.
Core Mechanic
The augment role matrix
Three buffs drop from named enemies. Each one does one job, expires fast, and must be deposited at a terminal. Assign these before you start and call them out — the entire dungeon is one long hand-off chain wrapped around nuclear cores.
Viral Augment
Scanner
› Read the truth
Marks correct panels / the real target. Walk close to confirm; the Scanner is the only one who can see which thing is real. Calls numbers out loud.
Viral Augment
Operator
› Shoot the target
The only one who can damage panels and trigger them. Shoot the wrong panel and you die instantly — wait for the Scanner's confirmed call.
Viral Augment
Suppressor
› Strip immunity
Throws a decoy that strips immunity from clones and shocks Raneiks into splitting. Without it, nothing takes damage. Times the split and the DPS window.
Nuclear cores & radiation: alongside the augments you'll carry nuclear cores between rooms and bunkers. Holding a core (and standing in irradiated areas) stacks Radiation — let it hit the cap and you die. Pass cores along and step out of contaminated zones to bleed stacks off. (See the station route map.)
Mechanic Checkpoints
What moves the encounter
Brief this before each pull: the progress trigger is what advances the room; the fail/wipe trigger is what must be read, deposited, or called immediately.
The Augment Terminals
Progress: use Scanner to identify correct terminals, Operator to shoot the right panels, and Suppressor/core handling to move nuclear cores into their deposits.
Fail/wipe: wrong panels reset progress, augment timers expire, and radiation stacks from cores kill careless carriers. Call handoffs before the room desyncs.
Raneiks Unified
Progress: Scanner reads the glowing number sets, Operator shoots the matching panels, and the team uses the integration/tether window to split and damage Raneiks.
Fail/wipe: missed numbers or wrong panels block the split. The integration beam, servitor shells, and add pressure punish anyone standing in the wrong lane.
The Corrupted Puppeteer
Progress: confirm the correct Operator panels, move nuclear cores into bunkers, strip the shield, then chase and damage the boss through the moving arena.
Fail/wipe: radiation stacks, bad bunker/core routing, and arc strikes during the DPS chase cause most wipes. Deposits are the progress gate; survival is the damage gate.
Field Maps
The station at a glance
Vesper's Host is a top-to-bottom crawl through a wrecked Braytech orbital: an airlock entry, an augment-terminal activation hall, a maze to Raneiks, an arc-strike traversal, then the Corrupted Puppeteer. Here's the whole route; each combat encounter below carries its own detailed map.

The Run
Three encounters, one chain
Activation, Raneiks, and the Puppeteer all run on the same augment hand-off loop. Lock your roles before you start: a Scanner who calls numbers, an Operator who only shoots on a confirmed call, and a Suppressor who times the splits.
1
Encounter · Activation
The Augment Terminals
"Bring the station back online — one core at a time."
Lore lens · why it works
The augment terminals run BrayTech's operating system — the same Scanner / Operator / Suppressor roles the Deep Stone Crypt used to lock intruders out. Seizing them is you commandeering the station's own security, turning the crew's access permissions into your keys through a facility built to keep you out.
The loop
Kill the Fallen carrying the named buffs to claim Scanner, Operator and Suppressor, then deposit each at its terminal so the team can use it.
The Scanner walks the room and confirms which panels are correct (they turn white on approach; wrong ones vanish). Call them clearly.
The Operator shoots only the confirmed panels. A wrong panel kills the Operator instantly.
Correct panels release a nuclear core behind a brain / lungs / heart door. Carry it back to the deposit point.
Deposit all required cores to open the path. Manage Radiation the whole time — hand off and step clear before stacks cap.
Instant killOperator firing on an unconfirmed panel is the #1 cause of death here. No "I think it's that one." Shoot only what the Scanner has called.
RadiationCarrying a core and standing in irradiated zones stacks Radiation; cap = death. Don't sprint the long way with a core — pass it forward and let stacks decay.
TimingAugments expire (~1 min) if not deposited. Whoever grabs one is on a clock — go straight to the terminal, don't fight on the way.
Solo: you hold every augment yourself, in sequence — Scanner to read, deposit, swap to Operator to shoot. Slower but fully doable. Watch your own Radiation; with no one to pass cores to, route the shortest path and step out of contaminated tiles between carries.
Mechanics over numbers: the exact core count and radiation cap matter less than the loop that drives them. Lock the rhythm — scan, confirm, shoot, carry, hand off — and the encounter falls regardless of the precise tick values.

Boss · Dismemberment
Raneiks Unified
"Ten servitors wearing one body. Take it apart by the numbers."
Lore lens · why it works
Raneiks Unified is a swarm of Servitors acting as one mind, its health shared across the collective. Fragmenting it and destroying the right units is you breaking the union that makes it whole — no single body can be killed until you've split the many back into the vulnerable few.
The loop
Raneiks floats immune, firing Void blasts and an integration tether that kills on a countdown — break line of sight to drop it.
The Suppressor throws a decoy; destroying it shocks Raneiks and splits it into 10 numbered servitors.
Two servitors have glowing eyes. The Scanner notes both numbers. This happens twice — four numbers total.
The Operator shoots the panels matching those four numbers around the central structure, then deposits the augment.
Suppress again to re-shock Raneiks — it becomes vulnerable. Dump DPS. If it survives the window, it reforms and the cycle repeats.
TetherThe integration beam is a timed kill. The moment you're tethered, break sightline behind cover — don't try to out-DPS the timer.
ShellsSplit servitors shed explosive shells that detonate on damage or a timer. Don't stand in the cluster; clear them at range before they pop on you.
CalloutsLock a number-reading convention before the pull. Two readers (one per split) beats one person scrambling to catch all four. Wrong number = wrong panel = wasted cycle.

Boss / numbered panelsGlowing servitorsSuppressor / tether
Solo: read both glowing numbers each split yourself, grab the Operator, and shoot the four panels in order before re-suppressing. It's a slower, deliberate version of the same loop — patience over speed.

Boss · Shutdown
The Corrupted Puppeteer
"A puppet wearing Atraks-1's face — and all her tricks."
Lore lens · why it works
The Corrupted Puppeteer is an Exo mind that survives by transferring between bodies, wearing a familiar face and all its old tricks. The fight's whole trap is telling the real one from the puppets — you have to kill the mind, not the shell, or it simply steps into another copy and keeps going.
The loop — everything you've learned, at once
The boss spawns immune clones that pulse Radiation nearby. The Suppressor decoy strips a clone's immunity so it can be killed.
The Scanner reads the correct marker on the real target (read the blue number on the pillar — not the red panels) and calls it.
The Operator shoots the four confirmed panels to progress, forcing the boss down through the station's levels.
Carry nuclear cores into the bunkers — each deposited core strips part of the boss's immunity shield.
With immunity gone, the DPS phase opens — the boss takes all damage. Dump everything while dodging arc / magnetic strikes and the clones.
If the phase ends early, augments expire and the cycle repeats. Rotate roles cleanly and try again.
Read blueThe trap is shooting the red panels. The Scanner reads the blue number on the pillar — that's the real target. Confirm before the Operator fires.
StrikesArc / magnetic strikes and storms sweep the arena during DPS. Keep moving, watch the floor, and don't get cornered against a clone's radiation aura.
PhaseThe DPS window plays like the Witness fight in Excision — all-damage, on the move. Stack a burst Super + heavy and a debuff to close it inside a phase or two.
Map · Corrupted PuppeteerEncounter 3 · Shutdown
Real boss / blue #Core / bunkerClone / arc strike
Solo: the hardest solo fight on the roster. You cycle all three augments alone while juggling cores and dodging strikes. Prioritize survivability (healing/overshield), strip one clone at a time, and accept a multi-phase kill — there's no shame in slow and alive.
Loadouts
Meta loadouts
This dungeon rewards survivability and consistent DPS over raw burst — you'll often be moving, carrying cores, or stripping clones. Build around one reliable DPS option + one add-clear + a survivable subclass, and bring at least one debuff for the boss windows.
Boss DPS
For Raneiks & Puppeteer windows
Still Hunt Exotic
With Hunter's Celestial Nighthawk, the Golden Gun shot chunks a vulnerable phase fast.
Heavy LFR / Rocket
Cataclysmic, Apex Predator and similar — high sustained burst for the all-damage windows.
Ice Breaker Exotic
The dungeon's own Solar sniper — self-regen ammo means endless precision DPS on a stationary target.
Gjallarhorn Exotic
Buffs every rocket in the fireteam — strong if a teammate runs rockets in the boss phase.
Add Clear
Fallen, shells, ambient
Graviton Lance / Sunshot Exotic
Chain-explosion primaries that thin Fallen packs and detonate Raneiks shells from range.
Riskrunner Exotic
Arc-soaked rooms feed it — effortless chain-lightning clear, great solo.
Witherhoard Exotic
Passive area damage you can tag onto a vulnerable boss, then swap to heavy.
VS Pyroelectric Propellant
A dungeon-native Arc auto with Jolting Feedback — clears and stuns in the same mag.
Survivability
Stay up through the chain
Tractor Cannon / Divinity Exotic
Debuff the boss for a team-wide damage boost before the DPS window opens.
Healing / overshield tools
Restoration, woven mail, or an overshield offset clone radiation and arc strikes.
Radiation-clear discipline
Not a gun — but stepping clear to bleed stacks is your most reliable defensive "tool" here.
Warlock
Well of Radiance / Prismatic
Drop a Well in the damage window for safety and a buff. Prismatic gives flexible healing while you juggle augments and cores.
Titan
Prismatic / Thundercrash
Thundercrash is huge single-target burst on a vulnerable boss; Prismatic adds overshield and ad-clear to taste.
Hunter
Prismatic + Golden Gun
Golden Gun with Celestial Nighthawk is a massive single-shot nuke; invis aspects help you carry cores and survive solo.
Loadout note: On this dungeon, role discipline and staying alive matter more than squeezing the last point of DPS — bring what you shoot well and at least one debuff, and the gap between meta and what you already own barely moves a clean run.
Run Discipline
Speed notes, not gospel
The fastest Vesper's Host runs win on clean role hand-offs, not exploits.
1
Pre-assign and never swap
Decide the Scanner / Operator / Suppressor before you load in and keep them all run. The Operator should be your steadiest shot — a single wrong panel resets the room and can kill them.
2
Two readers on Raneiks
Each split shows two glowing numbers and it happens twice. Split the job — one player reads each split — so all four numbers are caught the first time instead of replaying the cycle.
3
Route the cores, manage radiation
Plan core carries before grabbing one. Hand off rather than sprinting the long way, and step out of irradiated tiles between carries so Radiation never caps.
4
Respect the Puppeteer floor
Most boss-phase deaths are arc strikes and clone radiation, not boss damage. Keep moving, read the blue number, and don't tunnel DPS into a corner you can't escape.
Rewards
What you're farming for
Featured rewards: Two dungeons are featured each week. Featured: Standard and Master drop Tier 5 weapons and armor; the Director challenge and hidden chests drop Tier 5 on a weekly lockout. Not featured: Standard drops Tier 3 weapons and armor; Master still drops Tier 5.
The exotic — Ice Breaker
Ice Breaker is a returning Exotic Solar sniper rifle whose signature trait regenerates its own ammo over time — no reload, no ammo economy, ideal for sustained boss DPS. It is a random drop from the final boss (Shutdown), not a guaranteed first-clear reward, and can be earned once per character per week. Completing the dungeon's secret triumphs raises your drop chance rather than handing it over.
The catalyst is a separate puzzle: progress the long Rogue Network quest, unlock the keypad, then on a fresh run destroy four hidden Stasis crystals with Ice Breaker to read four numbers and input the code in the second secret room. The 4-digit code is randomized per instance, so read it fresh each run — the four crystal locations and the keypad room do not change.
The VS weapon set
The dungeon's legendaries are the "VS" family — most commonly cited as VS Chill Inhibitor (Stasis heavy GL), VS Gravitic Arrest (Void fusion), VS Velocity Baton, and VS Pyroelectric Propellant (Arc auto). This is not "Tinasha's Mastery" — that weapon belongs to a different activity, and older callouts that name it for this dungeon are wrong.
