Grandmaster Vanguard Alert · Scorn · Savathûn's Throne World
Birthplaceof the Vile
A Scorn strike through The Harvest — the Dark City of Savathûn's Throne World — re-taught in modern Grandmaster Vanguard Alert language. Channel Resonance Slabs while dense Scorn packs and exploding Screebs swarm you, manage champion frame coverage instead of old Artifact mods, and bring down Heimiks, Warden of the Harvest through a teleport-and-Portal-Warden cycle. This guide follows the shape of the flagship Arms Dealer route.

What this run really is
Birthplace of the Vile is a Scorn strike through the Dark City of the Throne World — in a Grandmaster Alert its danger isn't a clever layout, it's density: exploding Screebs and wall-to-wall Scorn packs while you stand still to channel Resonance Slabs, then a melee-charging boss who keeps closing the gap and seeding the floor with Ether Totems. Treat the slabs as defended objectives and the boss as a positioning-and-teleport puzzle, not a DPS race.
The one-sentence identity
Fight Scorn through the Harvest's corridors, charge Resonance Slabs while staying alive in the swarm, clear the champions the week's modifiers assign, then break Heimiks, Warden of the Harvest across his teleport-out and Portal Warden cycle.
Everything you bring serves three jobs: survive the density, cover the champion types present, and burst Heimiks in each open damage window. Build for those, not for the trash.
What old guides get wrong
They call this a Lucent Hive / Lightbearer strike. It isn't — the whole roster is Scorn, and Heimiks has no Ghost-crush self-revive.
They name "Unstoppable Ogres / Barrier Knights." Those are Hive units; this is a Scorn strike, so champions ride Scorn bodies — and the type combo rotates.
They quote a fixed champion list. GM champion types and counts follow the weekly modifier set.
They name a specific Adept reward. The chase is the weekly Tier 5 weapon, and it changes every reset.
01 · Champion Coverage
Cover the frames, not the mods
Anti-Champion is built into weapon frames now — there's no Artifact mod to forget. Bring archetypes that cover the types the week assigns. Because every enemy here is Scorn, champions appear on Scorn bodies. Champion types follow the weekly modifier set.
Per weekly modifier set
Barrier
› Pierce / break the shield
No Barrier Scorn is documented for this strike's usual roster. If a future launch screen lists Barrier, bring a Barrier-intrinsic frame; otherwise do not spend a slot on a shield type that is not present.
Per weekly modifier set
Overload
› Disrupt to stop the heal
Overload commonly sits on Scorn Chieftains. They regenerate and reposition — an Overload frame interrupts them so they stop healing. Focus them or they reset the room.
Per weekly modifier set
Unstoppable
› Stagger before it closes
When listed, Unstoppable rides Abomination-tier Scorn that rush in the tight halls. An Unstoppable frame staggers them at range — stun, then delete before they reach you.
The modifier readout, every time: (1) enemy pressure — which champions, shields, and faction units; (2) weekly modifiers — surge, threat, banes, player stakes; (3) the single modifier most likely to wipe a casual team; (4) one build swap that answers it. Run that readout on the launch screen before every GM Alert. Champion types follow the weekly modifier set. The hub's modifier glossary explains Medusa, Focused Fire, and the rest.
02 · The Route
The Harvest, entry to incubation
Five beats: the Dark City entry and first Resonance Slab, the interior corridors and sub-bosses, the twin-slab room, the Incubation Chamber bridge, and Heimiks' arena. The line is mostly forward — the skill is holding ground while you channel a slab in the swarm. Here's the route at a glance; each beat below carries its own notes.

1
Beat · Dark City Entry
The First Resonance Slab
"Stand still to charge it — in a room that wants you to keep moving."
The loop
Drop into The Harvest and push to the first Resonance Slab, clearing the opening Scorn before you commit to the channel.
Stand on the slab to charge it — but the moment you're rooted, Screebs swarm the choke. Keep one player off-plate watching for them.
Finish the channel as a group; don't leave a body alone on the slab while the rest of the team chases adds.
ScreebsExploding Screebs swarm this opening choke and their blast can one-shot a Guardian in GM. Shoot them at range; never let one reach the slab while you're channelling.
DensityThis strike leans on many minor and elite packs, not a few big elites. Match the weekly threat element with a resist mod before you root yourself on the plate.
PaceMove as a group cover-to-cover; a hero rush onto the slab burns a revive token you'll want at Heimiks.
2
Beat · Interior Corridors
The Sub-boss Corridors
"Tight halls, named Scorn, and no room to back up."
The loop
Push through barriers into the tight interior halls. Expect Lightscourge mini-bosses (Lillix, Cadori) and a Lacerated Abomination amid the packs.
Clear champions here with the matching frame coverage before advancing — never leave a stunned-tier Scorn alive behind a push.
Funnel the team forward one room at a time; the corridors punish anyone caught alone in the open.
Sub-bossesThe exact order and names of the Lightscourge minis and the Lacerated Abomination vary — treat them as elite roadblocks, focus them down, and don't trust a fixed sequence.
Close rangeCombat here is close-to-mid. If No Radar is up, clear corners before you enter and call enemy positions by voice — Scorn love to flank the tight halls.
AmmoTop up Special and Heavy between rooms and agree who grabs bricks. Don't dump Heavy on a sub-boss you could finish with a Primary and a stun.
3
Beat · Twin Slab Room
The Twin Resonance Slabs
"Two slabs, opposite sides — and the worst place to split up."
The loop
Enter the larger chamber. Two Resonance Slabs on opposite sides must both be activated to spawn the traversal platforms forward.
Guides recommend the team move and cap together rather than one player per slab — a lone capper gets picked off in the swarm.
Once both slabs are charged and the platforms appear, cross as a group and don't backtrack into the spawn.
Don't splitSending one player to each slab is the classic wipe here. Cap plates together, clear the immediate pack, then rotate as a unit to the second slab.
ScreebsThe same exploding Screebs appear here. Holding still on a slab is exactly when they detonate on you — keep a watcher and pre-clear sightlines.
CoverUse the chamber's pillars to break Scorn lines of fire while one player channels. Peek-and-cover; don't hard-scope a lane you can't disengage from.
4
Beat · Incubation Bridge
The Incubation Bridge
"The last calm crossing before the boss room."
The loop
Cross the bridge toward the boss arena, fighting past Nakoix, Lightscourge guarding the entrances into the Incubation Chamber.
Clear the entrance defenders fully before stepping in — a left-behind elite in a doorway collapses on you during the boss fight.
This is your last reset point. Top up ammo, regroup, and bank a revive token before you commit to Heimiks.
NakoixTreat Nakoix as the gatekeeper: focus and stagger before you push into the arena, so you enter the boss room clean rather than dragging an elite in behind you.
ResetRefill Special and Heavy, confirm everyone's super state, and agree on the opening damage plan for Heimiks before you cross the threshold.
5
Boss · Incubation Chamber
Heimiks, Warden of the Harvest
"He won't let you keep your distance — and he won't let you stand still."
The loop
Heimiks drops into the Incubation Chamber. He's an aggressive melee-charging boss who repeatedly closes the gap for an Ultra Smash — keep moving and don't get cornered.
He seeds the arena with Ether Totems that create Solar / Void / Arc damage zones. Don't stand in a totem's field — burn the totems or relocate.
Damage him in the open windows. Each time he loses about a third of his health he raises an immunity shield and teleports the fireteam out of the arena.
Fight through the connected room and kill the Portal Warden to teleport back in and resume damage. Repeat the cycle through his stages.
He has no Ghost-crush or self-revive — once his health is gone in the final stage, he stays down. Keep a revive token in reserve for the last push.
Ultra SmashHis charging Ultra Smash is the boss-phase killer. Watch his approach, not just his health bar — when he closes, break line of sight or dodge out before he lands it.
TotemsStanding in an Ether Totem zone (Solar burn / Arc / Void) is a fast death stacked on top of his melee. Treat the floor like it's lethal — clear totems or move.
BurstYou only get clean damage in the open windows between teleports, so burst beats slow sustained DPS. Land a heavy burst Super or a single-shot nuke each time he's vulnerable.
Portal WardenThe Portal Warden in the connected room is the gate back to the boss. Push the side room as a team, focus the Warden, and return together — don't trickle back in one at a time.
A GM team is happiest when each player owns a job. Full build cards live in the classguides and the Prismatic deep dive — these are the jobs to fill and the archetypes that fill them. Names rotate with the meta; the jobs don't.
Anchor / Control
Add-clear + self-sustain
Hold space and keep the team topped through the dense Scorn packs.
Warlock — Void Devour or the Prismatic Getaway loop.
Titan — Strand Banner of War for team woven mail.
A reliable add-clear Primary that respects the surge and answers Screebs at range.
Champion Lock
Frame coverage
Carry the intrinsic stuns the week assigns to the Scorn pool.
Bring frames for the types the launch screen lists — they rotate.
Cover Overload Chieftains and Unstoppable Abominations when the launch screen lists them; do not assume Barrier unless the activity says so.
See the weapon guide for which archetypes carry each stun.
Boss Burst
Damage in the open windows
Burst windows between teleports beat sustained DPS.
Hunter — Nighthawk Golden Gun for a clean single-shot nuke.
Titan — Thundercrash as a burst swap.
A heavy you can fire-and-reposition (rocket / LFR) while dodging the Ultra Smash.
Emergency Support
Safe revive / reset
The insurance that saves a token in the swarm.
Hunter — Void invis (Gyrfalcon / Omnioculus) for safe rezzes.
A healing or overshield tool for the slab channels and boss room.
A debuff (Tractor / Div) to speed the Heimiks damage windows.
Loadout note: these are the mid-2026 (Monument-era) jobs and archetypes — match the weekly surge when you pick your elements. For full, current builds, the class pages go deeper than any single route guide.
04 · Modifier Adjustment
What changes when the modifiers do
The route is evergreen, but the week's modifiers decide how you play it. The most common GM swings and the one adjustment each one asks for:
Medusa
Looking at affected enemies stacks Stasis slow toward a freeze. In the tight corridors that's lethal — peek-and-cover, break eye contact, and never freeze yourself while rooted on a Resonance Slab.
No Radar / Blackout
You lose your spawn warnings and melees hit harder — dangerous in a strike built on flanking Scorn. Clear corners before committing and call positions by voice, especially around Screebs.
Focused Fire
Heightened incoming damage. Tighten cover discipline everywhere and shorten your exposure windows while channelling slabs. Heimiks' Ultra Smash and the Ether Totems are twice as punishing under it.
Harsh threat / surge
Slot the matching resist mod for the threat element and match your DPS element to the surge on Heimiks. A mismatched surge can double your phase and teleport count.
Champion types follow the weekly modifier set: the exact champions, banes, surge, threat, and player stakes come from the week's GM Alert modifier list, shown on the launch screen.
05 · Common Wipes
Why teams actually lose this
Almost none of it is a clever boss mechanic — it's density and discipline. Birthplace of the Vile wipes groups in four predictable ways. Kill these habits and the run is yours.
1
Eating a Screeb
Exploding Screebs swarm the confined slab rooms and can one-shot a Guardian in GM — worst at the opening Resonance Slab. Shoot them at range and never let one reach you while you're channelling.
2
Drowning in the swarm
The strike leans on many minor and elite packs, not a few big elites. Getting caught without cover or ammo while rooted on a slab gets you overwhelmed. Pre-clear, then channel — never the other way round.
3
Splitting the twin slabs
Sending one player to each slab on opposite sides gets people picked off alone. Guides agree: cap plates together, rotate as a unit, and don't strand a lone capper in the swarm.
4
Heimiks closing the gap
His charging Ultra Smash melee plus standing in an Ether Totem zone (Solar burn / Arc / Void) is the boss-phase killer. Watch his approach and the floor, not just his health bar — move before he lands it.
Weekly reward: when Birthplace of the Vile is the active Grandmaster Alert, a Grade B or better clear awards the week's featured weapon at Tier 5 (first clear pre-masterworked with its origin trait). The weapon changes weekly — this route is evergreen, the reward is not. See the hub reward ladder.
