Read this first

Deep Stone Crypt is the raid people learn raids on. The whole thing runs on three temporary role buffs you pass around — once that clicks, every encounter is the same grammar. It's currently launchable on Europa.

Six stable truths

  • It's current. DSC is in the live raid rotation — launch it from the Europa map. This is a how-to, not a retrospective.
  • Roles are the raid. Operator, Scanner, and Suppressor buffs do almost everything. Learn who holds what and you've learned the raid.
  • You pass buffs, you don't keep them. A buff transfers at an Augmentation Terminal — its holder interacts with the terminal to hand the augment to a teammate. Calling the swap out loud is the whole skill.
  • Cores are timers. Picking up a nuclear core radiates you and ticks toward a wipe. Deposit on time; never hoard.
  • Comms over loadout. Mechanics are stable; weapon meta is not. Bring archetype jobs (boss DPS / add-clear / survive) and keep your callouts tight.
  • Final boss is Taniks, the Abomination — the rocket-DPS finale. You meet Taniks once before, as Taniks, Reborn in the Rapture encounter.

What wipes most groups

Dropped callouts, not damage. The whole raid is information handoffs under a timer — a missed Scanner call or a late buff pass cascades into a wipe.

  • Crypt Security: Operator and Scanner on opposite floors fall out of sync; nobody calls the lit panels.
  • Atraks-1: a player's Atraks-1 Replication timer runs out — nobody shot the orb off and airlocked them in time — so a fresh Atraks copy spawns on the body and wipes.
  • Rapture: a missed Suppressor stun or a wrong-box dunk stalls the deposit cycle, or a carrier rides Radiation to the cap — the deck jams and the crashing station takes the team.
  • Taniks: touching the Shock Field's outer debris during damage instead of the safe gap, or letting cores expire mid-DPS.

What stale guides get wrong: old "exclusive Eyes of Tomorrow drop math" and god-roll lists predate the 2026 reward refresh (see Loot).

The Fiction

Why you're here

The augments, the security grid, and the deathless bosses aren't set dressing — they're a Clovis Bray facility built to be un-raidable, now weaponized against you. Here's the story under the ice.

The Crypt, beneath Europa's ice

The Deep Stone Crypt is the Clovis Bray facility where Exo mind-transfer was born — now seized by the House of Salvation and the mercenary Taniks, rebuilt into a machine-god. Guided by the Exo Stranger, you raid it to deny Eramis's Fallen the Crypt's resurrection tech.

Everything you fight is the facility's own defenses turned outward. The augment roles — Operator, Scanner, Suppressor — are Clovis Bray's own access permissions, deliberately split so no lone intruder ever holds full control of a place built to be un-raidable.

Both bosses were engineered to refuse death: Atraks-1 prints fresh copies of herself, and Taniks grafted himself into Servitor-tech to be deathless. To win you seize the Crypt's controls and kill something that will not stay dead.

Core Mechanic

The three augment roles

Encounters hand out augment buffs — Operator and Scanner run the first two rooms, and the Suppressor joins from the Rapture encounter onward — earned by killing role minibosses and grabbing the dropped augment. Each role does exactly one job, and you pass it at an Augmentation Terminal. Memorize this triad and the rest is callout discipline.

In-game · Red augment

Operator

› Shoots panels & switches
The only player who can shoot terminals/panels to disarm, unlock, release core mechanics, or free trapped carriers from immobilization domes. The "button" role.
In-game · Yellow augment

Scanner

› Sees the correct target
Only the Scanner can see which thing is lit — the right panel, the real Atraks, the lit deposit bins. The Scanner calls; everyone else acts on the call.
In-game · Blue augment

Suppressor

› Stuns & opens damage
Holds the buff that stuns the boss or breaks a barrier so the team can damage. The window-opener — fires the augment, then DPS pours in.
Passing the buff: augments hand off at Augmentation Terminals, not by meleeing anyone — the holder drops their augment into a terminal and an empty-handed teammate picks it up from any terminal in the room (think shared mailbox; one augment per terminal, one per player). Whoever holds a buff works a short timer, so the team choreographs who drops for whom, and when. Give the roles plain nicknames — "Op," "Scan," "Supp" — and call every swap. Colors: in-game the Operator augment reads red, Scanner yellow, Suppressor blue; this guide's frost / teal / amber accents are its own mnemonic scheme, and the role marks are original redraws, not ripped icons.
Mechanic Checkpoints

What moves the encounter

Deep Stone Crypt is clean because every room says who can see, who can press, and who can stun. Progress happens when the right augment acts; wipes happen when the timer, radiation, or wrong target is ignored.

Low-man / speedrun read: Augments and nuclear cores are the whole compression problem. A fast or low-man team needs every player ready to inherit Scanner, Operator, Suppressor, core carrier, or add-clear duty when a disable, death, or radiation stack forces the swap.

Crypt Security

Progress: Scanner calls lit panels, Operator shoots them, and both floors burn the exposed fuses before the shield resets.

Fail/wipe: wrong panels, slow augment transfers, or mismatched floor timing let Security come back online and wipe the team.

Atraks-1

Progress: Scanner calls the real Atraks copy, both teams damage it, and each defeated copy drops an Atraks-1 Replication orb — the Operator opens an airlock and shoots it off the carrier's head to vent it.

Fail/wipe: shooting a decoy wastes the window; a Replication timer left to expire spawns a fresh Atraks copy on the body that wipes the team.

Rapture

Progress: the Operator dispenses cores from panels, the Suppressor stuns Taniks under the drones, and the Scanner's lit deposit boxes take the cores before any carrier's Radiation maxes.

Fail/wipe: a missed stun or wrong-box dunk stalls the cycle; a carrier who rides Radiation to x10 dies, and a jammed deck means no escape when the station crashes.

Taniks

Progress: the team shoots Taniks's thrusters to spawn cores, Scanner calls the lit bins, Suppressor stuns Taniks, then the team burns from the gap in his Shock Field.

Fail/wipe: wrong-bin dunks, expired cores, missed suppress, or touching the Shock Field's outer debris kills the damage phase and often the team.

The crypt at a glance

DSC is a descent from a frozen Europan bunker into orbit and back down through a collapsing ship. Here's the whole route, top to bottom; each encounter below carries its own detailed schematic next to the walkthrough.

Hidden Loot

Every secret chest

Two secret chests sit off the main line: one at the end of the opening blizzard run and one on the hull during the Morning Star spacewalk. Neither needs a role; both are quick climbs. Finding every hidden chest in the raid also grants the Cryptic Insignia shader.

1 · Opening blizzard ledge

Where: the end of the opening Sparrow run in the Desolation blizzard, beside the final safe zone before Crypt Security. Reach: do not take the final door. Climb the icy ledges up the cliffside to an alcove, where the chest sits between walls of ice. Frostbite keeps stacking, and 10 stacks kills, so open it and go.

Route choice: a solo detour that needs no role. If you drop to Frostbite, your Ghost is waiting at the exit.

2 · Descent hull chest

Where: the Descent, the Morning Star spacewalk between Atraks-1 and Taniks. Reach: partway along the hull the path forks near the large blades. Take the left fork instead of the right (the main line), then climb the metal platforms to the one with red lights. The chest sits directly on the path.

Route choice: left fork for the chest, right for the airlock. The spacewalk has no mechanics, so the whole team can take the detour together.

The Descent

Four encounters, top to bottom

Every encounter is the same shape: earn the three augments, hold a timer, pass the buff, open a damage window. Once Crypt Security clicks, the rest of the raid is variations on it.

Crypt Security

"Disable the Crypt's defences — a light room, a dark room, and one Operator working the basement."
Lore lens · why it works

Crypt Security was built to be un-raidable. You don't beat it — you hijack its own authority, seizing Operator and Scanner permissions to unlock the doors and disarm the fusion grid the facility turns on trespassers. Working the light room, dark room, and basement is you operating the Crypt's controls the way its staff once did.

The loop
  1. Split into two upstairs rooms — a light room and a dark room, three each. A single shared basement sits below both.
  2. Kill the Vandal minibosses to drop the Scanner and Operator augments; one Operator grabs theirs and drops into the basement.
  3. The Scanner looks down through the glass columns and calls which basement panels are lit; the Operator shoots the four called panels (two light-side, two dark-side) to open the damage phase.
  4. In the damage phase the Scanner reads the central tubes and calls the single glowing fuse; the team shoots it — one lit fuse at a time — before Security re-seals.
  5. Rotate augments through the Augmentation Terminals as panels and fuses cycle. Destroy all six fuses to clear the encounter.
RolesOne Operator works the basement panels; one Scanner reads the glass and calls targets; everyone else clears adds (Overload Captains, Servitors) and keeps the two augments moving through the terminals. Beginner-safe: keep the same three people per room so callouts stay local.
BasementThe basement can only be occupied briefly before it's purged with fire — the Operator can't camp it. Call panels fast so the Operator clears all four inside the window.
WipeMiss the timer — or leave Sentinel Servitors shutting down the terminals — and Security re-seals and wipes. Rhythm fight: clear lit panels fast, don't sightsee.
RouteThe blizzard run. Before Crypt Security you cross the Desolation on Sparrows, working from heat bubble to heat bubble. Each bubble gives Shelter from the Storm; outside it Frostbite stacks, and 10 stacks kill. Follow the lampposts toward the airlock, and clear the Fallen holding each stop.
Secret chestBlizzard chest. At the end of the Sparrow run, skip the final door and climb the icy ledges up the cliffside to an alcove. The chest sits between walls of ice. Open it fast; Frostbite is still stacking.

Below both is a single shared basement where one Operator shoots the four called security panels (two light-side, two dark-side) to open the damage phase. Six fuses in the central tubes are then destroyed, the correct glowing one called by the Scanner. Encounter · Orbital Station

Atraks-1, Fallen Exo

"Split across two heights and vent Atraks-1 Replication before the timer kills you."
Lore lens · why it works

Atraks-1 is a Fallen Exo fused into the Crypt's replication systems, resurrecting into fresh copies of herself. Venting her replicated selves with Operator authority is you culling those prints faster than the Crypt can make new ones — you're not out-damaging her, you're out-pacing the machine that keeps reprinting her.

The loop
  1. Split 3 in space (the orbital station, Morning Star) and 3 on the ground floor (the lab, Clarity Control). Both fight an Atraks copy.
  2. Kill the Operator and Scanner Vandals to drop their augments (Sentinel Servitors spawn to disable the augment terminals — kill them to restore transfers and open the damage phase). The Scanner calls which Atraks copy is the real, damageable one this cycle.
  3. Damage the called Atraks. When a copy is defeated it drops a purple Atraks-1 Replication orb — a player must grab it, which starts a ~45-second lethal timer.
  4. The Operator shoots the red panel to open an airlock; the orb-carrier stands inside and the Operator shoots the orb off their head to vent it before the timer expires.
  5. Repeat the damage-then-vent cycle, coordinating space and ground, until Atraks-1 dies.
RolesSpace team and ground team each keep an Operator (airlock) and a Scanner (calls the live copy). Beginner-safe: assign a fixed Replication caller who tracks the orb timers and names who vents next.
TimerLet a Replication timer expire and the carrier dies — a fresh Atraks copy spawns on the body and wipes the team. Vent early; never ride the timer to squeeze out more damage.
ReplicasAtraks replicates into copies; only the Scanner-marked one takes damage. Shooting a decoy wastes the window. Call the copy before anyone fires.

Encounter · Command Deck · Taniks, Reborn

The Rapture

"First contact with Taniks. Dispense the cores, stun him under the drones, bank them, and run."
Lore lens · why it works

The Crypt's nuclear-descent contingency has already gone critical — your intrusion tripped the facility's self-destruct, and the radiation you outrun in the Rapture is that meltdown itself as the station tears loose. The nuclear cores pass hand-to-hand exactly as the facility's neutralize authority was designed to, so surviving means finishing what the Crypt's own failsafe started.

The loop
  1. First, spacewalk down the outside of the Morning Star — a zero-g jumping puzzle with no mechanics (a hidden chest waits out here). Then drop onto the command deck and meet Taniks, Reborn.
  2. All three augments are live now — the Suppressor debuts here. The Operator shoots the panels to dispense nuclear cores.
  3. Grabbing a core stacks Radiation (x10 = death), so pass cores around and never hold one long.
  4. The Suppressor damages Taniks from under each of the three Security Drones to stun him — deposits only work while he's stunned.
  5. The Scanner calls which deposit boxes are lit; carriers dunk cores there. A wrong box or an expired core stalls the cycle.
  6. Bank enough cores and a hatch opens in the floor — dive in and escape as the station crashes toward Europa.
Stun gateNo Suppressor stun, no deposits — the boxes stay closed until Taniks is stunned under a drone. Line the core carriers up before the stun so cores bank inside the window.
RadiationCarrying a core stacks Radiation toward a lethal x10. Hand it off or bank it before it maxes — this is a relay, not a solo carry.
WipeMiss stuns or dunk the wrong box and cores expire; ride Radiation to x10 and the carrier dies. Bank enough and the escape hatch opens — steady beats greedy.
RouteThe spacewalk. After Atraks-1 you traverse the outside of the Morning Star, a linear zero-g jumping puzzle that runs along the hull and back into the station with no mechanics. Fallen Shanks patrol it. Keep to the main path and take your time on each jump.
Secret chestDescent chest. Where the hull path forks near the large blades, go left instead of right and climb the metal platforms to the one with red lights. The chest sits directly on the path.
RouteThe escape run. Once enough cores are in, a hatch near the front of the room opens. Everyone drops down and sprints to the end of the corridor, through the Rapture's lower hallways to an escape pod, while Taniks chases and kills anyone he catches.

Taniks, the Abomination

"Every role at once — dunk the cores, ride the Shock Field, rocket him down."
Lore lens · why it works

Taniks, the Abomination grafted himself into Servitor-tech to be deathless — he simply regenerates. Stripping the reactor cores off him and neutralizing them at the stations starves that self-repair of the meltdown it feeds on, cracking his shielding until the kill finally holds.

The loop — everything you've learned, at once
  1. All three augments are in play. Kill role minibosses to take Operator, Scanner, and Suppressor.
  2. The team shoots Taniks's thrusters (destroy at least two of four) to spawn nuclear cores; carriers run them to deposit bins on a side away from Taniks (a pair in each of three zones — six total).
  3. The Scanner calls which bins are lit this cycle, and the Operator shoots the purple immobilization domes that trap carriers to free them — dunk four cores in the lit bins to charge damage.
  4. The Suppressor fires to stun Taniks and open the damage window.
  5. When Taniks raises his Shock Field, jump inside and stand in the gap between the two rings and rocket Taniks down — the inner Arc field electrocutes and the outer swirling debris kills instantly.
  6. Survive his sweep, repeat the cycle. On his last health segment Taniks enters his final stand — he abandons the mechanic and teleports around the crash site. You get about five teleports to burst him down before he wipes the team.
Roles2 augment holders + 2 core runners + 2 floaters (add-clear / flex DPS) is the beginner-safe split. Fix who holds Scanner so one voice owns the bin calls.
Shock FieldDuring damage Taniks raises an Arc dome ringed by orbiting debris. Stand in the gap between the two rings — the inner Arc field electrocutes and the outer debris is instant death. It's fixed geometry, not a called colour.

Loadouts

Meta loadouts (mid-2026)

DSC is power-floored and mechanically driven, so loadout matters less than callouts. Build around three jobs: burst boss DPS for Taniks and Atraks windows, reliable add-clear for Servitors/Thrall, and a survival tool for the radiation and detonation rooms. Names below are mid-2026 examples — keep the jobs, swap the names.

Boss DPS

Taniks & Atraks windows
Rocket Launchers (Bait-and-Switch)
The DSC archetype job — Taniks is a rocket fight by design. Swap-rocket strategies post the highest burst in his short window.
Linear Fusion Rifles
Heavy precision LFRs (e.g. Cataclysmic-type) give steady, accurate damage at range for the Atraks copies.
Eyes of Tomorrow Exotic
The raid's own exotic — multi-lock rockets that shine on the boss. A chance drop from the Taniks chest.
Gjallarhorn Exotic
Buffs every teammate's rockets — bring one if the fireteam runs a rocket DPS comp.

Add Clear

Servitors, Thrall, ambient
Chain-explosion primaries Exotic
Sunshot / Graviton-style guns delete Fallen and Thrall packs and keep core runners safe.
Wave-frame / GL add-clear
Special grenade launchers clear chokepoints between damage cycles without burning Heavy.
Auto / SMG primaries
Any reliable 600-rpm-class workhorse handles the minibosses that drop augments.
Witherhoard Exotic
Passive area damage you can plant on a copy or zone, then swap to Heavy for the window.

Survivability

Replication, radiation, ring
Healing / restoration tools
Outheal Rapture's Radiation ticks and the Taniks Shock-Field chip so a carrier survives to deposit.
Tractor Cannon Exotic
Suppress-and-debuff Taniks for a team-wide damage boost right before the rocket dump.
Mobility / movement exotics
Smooth the Morning Star spacewalk and keep repositioning between stuns and dunks — cheap insurance on flawless runs.
Warlock
Well of Radiance / Prismatic

A Well under the Taniks DPS spot gives the team healing and a damage buff — the safest anchor. Prismatic flexes healing into the Replication and radiation rooms.

Titan
Prismatic / Bubble

A defensive bubble or Prismatic survivability keeps core runners up; Thundercrash adds burst on a boss window if you want it.

Hunter
Prismatic + Invis / Golden Gun

Invisibility eases the add pressure during deposits; a Celestial-boosted Golden Gun is a clean single-target nuke on Taniks.

Loadout note: these are the durable shapes for the mid-2026 (Renegades / Monument-era) sandbox. DSC is a rocket fight at heart, so a swap-rocket plan is the spine of any Taniks comp — the named guns are interchangeable examples, the jobs are what matter.
Rewards

What you're farming for

The chase: Eyes of Tomorrow

The headline drop is Eyes of Tomorrow, the raid-exclusive Exotic Rocket Launcher that fires multiple locked-on projectiles — a genuine boss-melter and the reason many people run DSC weekly. It's a chance drop from the final Taniks chest. Featured weeks under Monument of Triumph give the best farm cadence.

Weapons, armor & the 2026 refresh

DSC drops a full Europa-themed legendary set (the Crypt weapons and armor) per encounter, plus the exotic from Taniks. The tiered-loot and armor set-bonus systems arrived with The Edge of Fate / Renegades (2025). Two raids are featured each week. Featured: Standard encounters and challenges drop Deepsight weapons or Tier 5 armor, hidden chests drop Tier 5 armor on a weekly lockout, and Master adds Adept weapons from challenges. Not featured: Standard gives a chance at Deepsight weapons and Tier 3 armor; Master and challenges still give Deepsight weapons and Tier 5 armor. Feats raise the reward grade (Grade 0: Tier 3; 1: Tier 3+4; 2: Tier 4+5; 3: two Tier 5; 4: Tier 4 + two Tier 5; 5: three Tier 5; Cutthroat Combatants +4, Challenges +3, Shocktroopers +2, Token Limit and Phase Limit +1). Standard mode earns the weekly tiered reward without Feats.
