Destiny 2 · Raid · The Pale Heart · The Final Shape
Salvation's Edge
A full visual field guide to all five encounters — with the resonance / conductor / shape triad, the Verity inside–outside shape loop, Witness hand and glyph tells, current boss-DPS jobs, and loot. This is the Final Shape capstone: six players, no matchmaking, comms on every callout. Climb the Monolith, break the shapes, and unmake the Witness.
Salvation's Edge is the raid where communication is the mechanic. Almost every wipe is a callout problem — a wrong resonance, a mis-read shape, a glyph nobody confirmed. Learn the shared vocabulary, assign rooms, then learn the rooms.
Stable truths
It is current and launchable. Salvation's Edge shipped with The Final Shape (2024) and lives in the Director in the Pale Heart. You need The Final Shape to enter.
Resonance is the master verb. You pick up a resonance buff and "spend" it on terminals/conductors to advance. Most encounters are a resonance-collect-and-spend loop under pressure.
Shapes are the shared language. Circle, square, triangle (and their 3D combinations) drive Verity and recur as callout shorthand. Pick names before you start.
Split spaces everywhere. Players are constantly divided — inside vs outside, scout vs operate. Whoever can see the information has a different job than whoever can act on it.
Comms before mechanics. Six players, no matchmaking, weekly checkpoint. This is a capstone — bring a coordinated group, not a fresh stack.
What wipes groups & what stale guides miss
What wipes most teams: mis-called resonance/shapes, missing a conductor before the Substratum timer, grabbing a fourth resonance stack, the Verity "dissection" math going wrong, and tunnel-vision during the Witness's hand-slam and glyph-test phases.
Honest framing: this is one of Destiny's hardest raids to explain, not just to do. The mechanics are stable but heavily verbal — a guide can map the rooms, but your team still has to talk. Agree on a callout system together and run it the same way every pull.
The loot.Euphony, the raid's Exotic Strand Linear Fusion, drops from the final encounter (the Witness) at the usual raid-exotic rate — once per character per week. The Salvation's Edge weapon and armor set drop per-encounter.
The Fiction
Why you're here
The resonance, the shapes, the sorting — none of it is arbitrary. You're fighting inside the Witness's half-finished language for rewriting reality. Here's the story the climb is telling.
The Monolith at the edge of reality
This is the deepest point of the Pale Heart of the Traveler, where the Witness has torn a path to the Monolith at the edge of existence. Using the captive Ghost and stolen power, it is midway through the Final Shape — imposing one fixed, chosen form onto everything that is.
That's why the raid feels like an exam in geometry and pure form: you're operating inside the Witness's own unfinished language of resonant states and imposed shapes, climbing its infrastructure from the Substratum to the summit.
Interrupt the Final Shape and strike the Witness itself — every damage window is the fireteam refusing the shape it wants to force onto the world.
Core Mechanic
The resonance–conductor–shape triad
Three verbs run the whole raid and stack on top of each other. Collect resonance, spend it into conductors/terminals to power the room, and read the shapes that say which target is correct. Master these three and every encounter — including the Witness — is a remix of them.
Resource verb · COLLECT
Resonance
› Pick up & carry the buff
Kill the right enemy or interact with a node to gain resonance. It's a timed carried buff — you have a window to deliver it before it decays. This is the raid's dunk economy in disguise.
Plate verb · SPEND
Conductors
› Power the terminal in order
Carry resonance to a conductor / terminal and spend it to charge or unlock. Order and timing matter — the wrong conductor, or one left uncharged when the timer expires, fails the room. Read position before description.
Memory verb · READ
Shapes
› Circle · Square · Triangle
Geometric primitives mark targets, knights, and the Verity statues. In Verity they combine into 3D shapes (e.g. circle+square = cylinder) that must be dissected and passed. Use simple agreed names — never invent ambiguous ones mid-fight.
On the symbol set: Salvation's Edge uses official in-game shape and glyph marks. The diagrams below use original schematic mnemonic marks in this page's palette — they are not the game's icons. Match the idea (circle / square / triangle, and "2D vs 3D") to what you see in-game, and agree on names with your team. (See the route map and per-encounter figures.)
Mechanic Checkpoints
What moves the encounter
Salvation's Edge punishes half-solved mechanics. Progress requires confirmed resonance, conductor, shape, or glyph states; guessing turns into instant deaths or wipe timers.
Low-man / speedrun read: the low-man/speed rule is confirmation over confidence. One caller per puzzle side, no fourth resonance stack, no wrong-shape deposit, no guessed shape pass; every saved second disappears if a wrong action starts the death timer.
Substratum
Progress: collect up to three resonance stacks, dunk to extend time, route energy, shoot each Crux, and lock six conductors.
Fail/wipe: a fourth resonance stack instantly kills the carrier; letting the timer expire resets the encounter.
Herald
Progress: kill marked enemies, carry resonance to the lit conductor, charge the pattern, and damage when the Herald's immunity drops.
Fail/wipe: wrong conductors waste the buff, expired resonance re-locks the cycle, and unescorted carriers die before the window opens.
Repository
Progress: kill Tormentors for the Stolen Favor buff, read each conduit's required resonance shape, and deposit the matching shape — Pyramidal, Spherical, or Square/Hexahedron — to lock every conduit across the three floors.
Fail/wipe: depositing the wrong resonance shape fails a lock, mistimed beam routing spawns a Subjugator, and the wipe timer runs out if you stall between floors.
Verity
Progress: inside players pass 2D shapes correctly while outside players dissect statues into the matching 3D forms.
Fail/wipe: wrong passes or wrong dissection stack the death-timer debuff. One caller per side keeps the puzzle from eating itself.
The Witness
Progress: earn a resonance shape, shoot the matching-colour band on the Witness's attacking hand to break it and gain Glyphbreaker, then shoot the matching glyph among the six on its chest; break all six to strip immunity and burst the core.
Fail/wipe: hand slams are the constant lethal hazard, and shooting a hand with the wrong resonance wastes it. Spread before reading; confirm before committing.
Team Rule
Progress: bank only confirmed information: called conductor, called shape, called glyph, called damage window.
Fail/wipe: "I think" is not a mechanic. In this raid, unconfirmed action is usually worse than waiting one beat for the caller.
Field Maps
The climb at a glance
Salvation's Edge is a vertical assault on the Monolith: the Substratum conductor-and-resonance encounter, the Herald of Finality boss, the Repository resonance-conduit climb, the Verity shape-dissection puzzle, then the Witness. Here's the whole route start-to-finish; each encounter below carries its own detailed schematic next to the walkthrough.
Salvation's Edge hides two physical chests in its climbs and a Deepsight chest that depends on five hidden resonance rooms. All of them are detours from a route that already punishes falls, so choose your peelers first.
1 · Monolith jumping section chest
Where: the long platforming section between Herald of Finality and Repository, near its end, in an area built from amber and orange crystal cubes. Reach: look for the crystal cubes with a Guardian-sized gap or crevice in the wall, and crouch in. A hidden room behind it holds the chest.
Route choice: It is a short detour off the main platforming path, so whoever wants the chest steps off the route near the end of the section while the others wait or follow.
2 · Under the Witness's arena
Where: the final climb before the Witness, in the cubic formations that hang beneath the arena. Reach: from the climbing section, leave the main path and follow the gaps and handholds in the grey cube faces on your left into a hidden room under the boss chamber.
Route choice: this is a detour in the final climb, so take it before you commit to the Witness. Finding both secret chests completes the Fragmented Truths triumph and unlocks the Cellweave shader.
3 · Deepsight chest, five hidden rooms
Where: spawns after the Witness, with a guaranteed red-border weapon. Reach: in the first room inside the Monolith, read the symbol rows and keep the third column from the left, reading bottom to top: the five symbols are the resonance shape each hidden room needs. Only three of the five rooms are active in a given run (an active room has a glowing pillar). Close each active room's circuit with the right resonance on its conductor plate, all in one fresh run.
Rooms: room 1 near the start before Substratum; room 3 between Substratum and Herald, by the green cube platforms; room 4 between Herald and Repository, on the left. Rooms 2 and 5 are not pinned down by our sources, so scout them with the room symbols.
Route choices at a glance
Read the symbols first. The reference column is at the very start, so a Deepsight attempt is decided before Substratum.
Three active rooms per run. Check each pillar for the glow before you spend resonance.
Both chests are detours in climbs that already punish falls, so call them from the front of the group.
RouteMonolith approach. You enter the Monolith by climbing stairs past a symbol wall; the first room holds the Deepsight symbol columns.
FallsMonolith jumping section. The long platforming stretch between Herald and Repository, with amber crystal slabs guarded by Dread and death portals. The chest detour is near the end of the section, so hold the group at the last platforms and send the peelers from there.
RouteFinal climb. After Verity you ascend roots and floating platforms toward the Witness, fighting a Scorn Chieftain and a Cabal Colossus on the way; the under-arena chest is a detour from this climb.

The raid is a climb up the Monolith in the Pale Heart. Follow the gold ascent line between sections — each room teaches a piece of the language you'll need against the Witness at the top.
1
Encounter · Substratum
The Substratum Conductors
"Route the resonance and lock the Monolith's circuits."
Lore lens · why it works
The Conductors are the Witness's conduit machinery at the base of the Monolith. Rerouting the resonance is you hijacking its own infrastructure to climb — turning the plumbing it built to reshape reality into the elevator that carries you up toward it.
The loop
Collect Pyramidal Resonance from the eight peripheral rooms — cap is 3 stacks; a 4th stack instantly kills you.
Dunk resonance into the central chest to start the encounter on a ~4:15 timer. Split into two teams of three.
Route energy along the wired circuit plates (each room has a square plate wired to its neighbors and a conductor pillar). Shoot the conductor's glowing Crux as the energy travels, then step on the plate to lock it.
Clear waves throughout — Overload Champions, Tormentors, Subjugators (Sol Divisive Vex and Dread). Dunk resonance to extend the timer (~20s each, capped around ~4:20).
Complete three rotations — six conductors locked total — and a staircase deeper into the Monolith unfurls.
4th stackResonance caps at 3 stacks — picking up a fourth instantly kills the carrier. Dunk before you grab more, and never grab a stray pickup at cap.
TimerThe encounter runs on a ~4:15 timer (hard cap around ~4:20). Every resonance dunk buys back roughly 20 seconds until that cap — keep dunking while you lock conductors or the run resets.
RolesTwo teams of three each take half the wired ring: one shoots each conductor's Crux as energy travels while a partner holds the plate to lock it, and the third clears the Champions and Tormentors.

Boss · Herald of Finality
Dissipation, the Herald of Finality
"The Monolith's first guardian — open the window and break it."
Lore lens · why it works
The Herald of Finality, faced in Dissipation, is a shard of the Witness's own will set to guard the ascent. Its shield yields only to the Witness's own resonant currency — you can't force the Monolith's gatekeeper with brute damage; you have to answer it in the same language of resonance it was made from.
The loop — the raid's first boss
Kill the marked enemies to drop resonance and pick it up — it's a timed carried buff.
Carry resonance to the lit conductor / terminal and spend it to charge that node. Call which node is lit before you run.
Charge the conductors in the required pattern while the rest of the team defends the carrier and clears adds — this strips the Herald of Finality's immunity.
Open the damage window and burst the Herald down before it re-shields, then repeat the cycle until the boss falls.
TimerResonance decays and the cycle re-locks on a timer. A dropped or expired buff means a wasted phase — keep carriers escorted and moving, never solo into a contested lane.
RolesTwo carriers rotate resonance to conductors, two on add-clear hold the lanes, two flex revive and stack damage for the window. Read position first, description second.
Wrong nodeSpending resonance on the wrong conductor wastes the buff and the timer. Confirm the lit target out loud — one caller, short names.

Encounter · Repository
The Repository
"Carve a path — read the shape, route the light, lock the conduit."
Lore lens · why it works
The Repository is an exam in the logic of the Final Shape. Sorting and matching forms proves you can read the Witness's grammar of imposed geometry before the path continues — the Monolith won't let you deeper until you can think in the fixed shapes it's forcing onto reality.
The loop
The Repository is a three-floor climb (no boss) that introduces the third resonance shape — Square / Hexahedron — alongside Pyramidal and Spherical.
Kill a Tormentor; whoever lands the final blow gains Stolen Favor, which lets them read which resonance shape their conduit needs.
Route the light beam across the linked plates to generate that shape's resonance, then deposit the matching shape into the conduit to lock it.
Lock all the conduits, regroup at the center to bank resonance and extend the timer, clear the Unstoppable Champion wave, and climb. Repeat across all three floors.
Wrong shapeDepositing the wrong resonance shape into a conduit fails the lock, and mistimed beam routing spawns a Subjugator. Read your Stolen Favor shape before you route.
RolesSplit into three pairs — each pair kills a Tormentor for Stolen Favor, reads its conduit's shape, and routes the beam to lock it. Rotate so everyone can read a shape.
TimerBank resonance at the center to extend the wipe timer, and clear the Unstoppable Champion wave before climbing. Don't let the timer lapse between floors.

Encounter · Verity
Verity, the Shape Dissection
"What you hold inside is not what the world sees outside."
Lore lens · why it works
Verity splits the fireteam across 2D and 3D: three players dissect solids while three rebuild them from flats. It's the Witness collapsing dimensions into fixed forms — the encounter literally makes you experience reality being flattened and reshaped into the shapes it dictates.
The loop — the raid's signature puzzle
The team splits: three inside (each trapped in a room with a 2D shape) and three outside in the main statue room.
Each inside player sees their own 2D shape (circle / square / triangle) and calls it out. Inside players combine shapes by passing to fix what they hold.
Outside players read the three 3D statues (e.g. cylinder = circle + square) and dissect them — knocking off the wrong faces and building each statue into the correct 3D shape.
Inside and outside must cross-call constantly: outside tells inside what shapes they need; inside confirms what they're holding. This is shared-information split-space at its hardest.
When every inside shape and every outside statue matches the target, the encounter completes. Mistakes apply a stacking death timer debuff.
Math failVerity is a shape-combination puzzle, not a reflex test. Pass the wrong shape or dissect the wrong face and the team racks up a stacking debuff that wipes you. Slow, confirmed callouts beat fast guesses.
RolesPick one outside lead to direct dissection and one inside lead to coordinate passes. Agree on shape names (round / box / wedge — whatever you like) and on a 2D-vs-3D vocabulary before you start.
CommsOverlapping callouts kill this room. One caller per side, repeat only the changed shape, and never assume — confirm every hand-off.
Schematic note: the shape pairings drawn above (cylinder = circle + square, etc.) are illustrative of how 2D shapes combine into 3D solids — the live encounter assigns its own combinations each attempt. Read the actual statues and inside shapes in-game and apply the same logic; don't memorize this exact set.

Boss · The Monolith
The Witness
"Unmake the will that wanted to end choice."
Lore lens · why it works
The Witness fights by imposing overwhelming order — the same instinct behind the Final Shape, brought to bear on the arena itself. Every mechanic you satisfy and every damage window you open is the fireteam refusing the shape it forces, unmaking the will that wanted to end all choice.
The loop — everything you've learned, at once
The Witness is immune. It attacks with hands whose colour matches one of the three resonance shapes — Pyramidal, Spherical, or Square/Hexahedron.
Earn the matching resonance and, standing inside that hand's attack zone, shoot its coloured band to destroy the hand and gain Glyphbreaker. Stay spread otherwise — the hand slams are lethal.
The Glyphbreaker player shoots the matching one of the six glyphs on the Witness's chest from the Well-of-Light island.
Break all six glyphs to strip immunity, then the whole team bursts the exposed core in the short damage window.
Repeat, escalating each phase, until the final stand where the whole team focuses fire. Keep bodies on adds and revives — one death mid-phase can collapse the cycle.
Hand slamThe Witness's hand attacks are the top cause of death. Spread out, watch the wind-up, and never group up where a slam can catch multiple players at once.
DPSDamage windows are short and gated — stack a damage Super and high-end Heavy and burst the instant the core opens. Have a debuff ready to maximize each window. (See the loadout jobs below.)
TestsGlyph/shape tests reuse the whole raid's vocabulary. Assign reading groups, keep one caller per group, and confirm before anyone commits — a misread test wastes the phase.

Loadouts
Meta loadouts (mid-2026)
This is a capstone, so the sandbox actually matters here. Build around jobs, not god rolls: a gated-window boss-DPS option for the Witness, reliable add-clear for the resonance rooms, and survivability for the long test phases. Treat named weapons as examples of the archetype's job, not mandates.
Boss DPS
For the Witness damage windows
Precision burst LFR (job)
Highest precision burst into a short, gated window. Any strong Heavy Linear Fusion works; the in-raid chase EuphonyExotic is a Strand Special-ammo LFR, so it fills this role while keeping your Heavy slot free for a rocket/sword.
Bait-and-Switch rocket / LFR (job)
Top sustained legendary DPS for stationary cores — the reliable team-wide pick.
Golden Gun + Celestial Exotic
Hunter single-shot nuke for instant burst the moment the window opens.
Gjallarhorn Exotic
Buffs the whole fireteam's rockets — bring it if teammates run rockets.
Cheap, ammo-efficient room clear for the conductor and Repository lanes.
Witherhoard Exotic
Passive area damage and chip on the boss between windows — set and swap.
Special-ammo AR / SMG (job)
Sustained mid-range clear that doubles as carrier defense.
Survivability
Long test & carry phases
Team debuff (job)
Tractor Cannon / Div-style debuff before each DPS window for a damage boost.
Healing & overshield tools
Restoration, woven mail, or bubble keep carriers and readers alive under pressure.
Mobility / cleanse exotics
Fast-traversal and revive-support exotics shine in the Substratum conductor sprint and the long Verity split.
Warlock
Well of Radiance / Prismatic
Well anchors every DPS window with healing and a damage buff. Prismatic gives flexible healing and ad-clear for the carry phases.
Titan
Prismatic / Thundercrash
Thundercrash is huge burst into a gated window; Prismatic offers barricades, overshields, and ad-clear to taste.
Hunter
Prismatic + Golden Gun
Golden Gun with Celestial for a single-shot nuke; invis and dodge aspects keep readers safe during tests.
Loadout note: these are built for the Monument-era (mid-2026) sandbox. This is a capstone, so the sandbox matters more than usual — but build to the jobs (gated boss burst, resonance-room add-clear, survivability for the long test phases) and any current option that fills the role works.
Rewards
What you're farming for
The exotic chase
The headline chase is Euphony, the raid's Exotic Strand Linear Fusion Rifle (Special ammo), alongside the Salvation's Edge weapon and armor set. Euphony drops from the final encounter (the Witness) at the usual raid-exotic rate — one chance per character per week.
2026 loot model
Salvation's Edge uses the tiered-loot and armor set-bonus systems introduced with The Edge of Fate / Renegades (2025) and extended by the Monument of Triumph update. Weapons and armor drop per-encounter. Two raids are featured each week. Featured: Standard encounters and challenges drop Deepsight weapons or Tier 5 armor, hidden chests drop Tier 5 armor on a weekly lockout, and Master adds Adept weapons from challenges. Not featured: Standard gives a chance at Deepsight weapons and Tier 3 armor; Master and challenges still give Deepsight weapons and Tier 5 armor. Feats raise the reward grade (Grade 0: Tier 3; 1: Tier 3+4; 2: Tier 4+5; 3: two Tier 5; 4: Tier 4 + two Tier 5; 5: three Tier 5; Cutthroat Combatants +4, Challenges +3, Shocktroopers +2, Token Limit and Phase Limit +1). Standard mode earns the weekly tiered reward without Feats.
