How to distrust dungeon guides

Dungeon pages age in predictable ways. Before you copy a route, check the claims that rot fastest: loot exclusivity, DPS lists, exploit shortcuts, access requirements, and whether a guide assumes a full fireteam when you are actually solo.

Check 01

Loot Claims

Old "exclusive" labels can become wrong after reward refreshes. Trust the live reward preview and current loot tables first.

Check 02

Patch Tech

If a route depends on duplication, physics, joining allies, or a timer skip, assume it can vanish without notice.

Check 03

Boss DPS

Weapon advice expires faster than mechanics. Bring one stable damage option, one add-clear tool, and one survival loop.

Check 04

Solo Bias

A safe trio route can be a bad solo route. Prioritize self-heal, invis, woven mail, overshields, or reliable crowd control.

First clear

Start older

Shattered Throne, Pit, and Prophecy teach dungeon pacing without modern symbol overload.

Best practice

Mechanics reps

Duality, Vesper's Host, and Sundered Doctrine build fast callouts and role discipline.

Endurance

Bring patience

Ghosts of the Deep and Warlord's Ruin punish sloppy survivability and long boss phases.

Loot farm

Follow rotator

Run the featured dungeons when you care about high-quality tiered rewards and repeatable farming.

01 - Full Roster

All dungeons at a glance

Use this as a pre-run scout. Each card names the main verb, the dangerous habit to avoid, and the reason to run it now.

Forsaken - Dreaming City

The Shattered Throne

Mechanic
Labyrinth symbols, Taken relic loops, Vorgeth orb dunks, Dul Incaru knight management.
Run Risk
Long traversal and fall deaths. Most combat is forgiving by modern standards.
Why Run
Best first dungeon or first solo-flawless practice; refreshed legacy rewards make it less of a nostalgia run.
Full guide ->
Season of Arrivals - IX Realm

Prophecy

Mechanic
Light and Dark motes: stand in the right lighting state, kill Knights, cleanse matching pillars.
Run Risk
Wasting motes and losing the rhythm in cube/portal rooms.
Why Run
Clean fundamentals, striking loot identity, and a strong bridge from old dungeons into modern mechanics.
Full guide ->
30th Anniversary - Cosmodrome

Grasp of Avarice

Mechanic
Burdened by Riches engrams, Scorch Cannon batteries, sparrow mines, and pirate-boss cycles.
Run Risk
Greed timer deaths. Bank engrams before your timer becomes the real boss.
Why Run
Great farm for classic 30th Anniversary weapons and a very teachable dungeon structure.
Full guide ->
Haunted - Leviathan Mindscape

Duality

Mechanic
Bell travel between normal and Nightmare spaces, standard collection, and timer discipline.
Run Risk
Bad bell timing, physics deaths, and over-staying in the Nightmare realm.
Why Run
Excellent mechanics practice; Heartshadow and Opulent-era weapon farms keep it relevant.
Full guide ->
Seraph - Mars

Spire of the Watcher

Mechanic
Arc-node circuits: trace wires, shoot nodes in order, then damage Akelous and Persys.
Run Risk
Missing a node under pressure or letting the final arena collapse into chaos.
Why Run
Strong wiring/mechanics practice with Hierarchy of Needs as the exotic chase.
Full guide ->
Deep - Titan Arcology

Ghosts of the Deep

Mechanic
Lucent Hive rituals, rune matching, Vestige movement, underwater traversal, and long boss setup.
Run Risk
Endurance. A bad death late in Simmumah hurts because the prep loop is long.
Why Run
The Navigator chase and a real survivability test for modern solo builds.
Full guide ->
Wish - EDZ Castle

Warlord's Ruin

Mechanic
Cages, Taken totems, blight transfers, Hefnd's curse, and multi-floor boss movement.
Run Risk
Letting debuffs linger or losing control of adds while rotating floors.
Why Run
Buried Bloodline is a premier exotic chase, and the dungeon is compact but demanding.
Full guide ->
Revenant - Europa Station

Vesper's Host

Mechanic
Deep Stone Crypt-style Scanner, Operator, and Suppressor augments with nuclear-core handling.
Run Risk
Role confusion, radiation, lightning, and final-boss clone pressure.
Why Run
One of the best role-discipline dungeons; Ice Breaker is the headline exotic.
Full guide ->
Heresy - Sunken Pyramid

Sundered Doctrine

Mechanic
Truth/lie symbol reads, light-beam routing, symbol wheels, and Kerrev's final riddle loop.
Run Risk
Bad symbol discipline. Write callouts down until your group can solve without panic.
Why Run
Dense mechanics, Dread/Hive pressure, and Finality's Auger as the exotic reward chase.
Full guide ->
Renegades - Latest Dungeon

Equilibrium

Mechanic
Three-encounter Renegades dungeon: Harvester, Harrow, and Dredgen Sere. Expect modern role pressure and damage gates.
Run Risk
Newest-dungeon volatility.
Why Run
The newest chase pool, including the Heirloom exotic and Equilibrium armor set.

01b - Puzzle Ledger

Dungeon puzzle checklist

The individual pages teach the encounter route. This ledger catches the stuff that players usually mean when they say "the dungeon puzzle": optional chests, collectibles, exotic/catalyst steps, and quest-only detours that are easy to omit from a normal clear.

Dungeon puzzle checklist covering each dungeon's main puzzle, side secrets, and exotic or catalyst puzzle.
DungeonMain puzzleSide / secret puzzlesExotic / catalyst puzzle
Shattered Throne Erebus symbol labyrinth, Vorgeth Petitioner's Mark dunk, and Dul Incaru knight-buff damage gate. Dreaming City collectibles such as eggs/bones still feed the legacy Dreaming City triumphs, so sweep them on a completion run. Wish-Ender uses hidden plates, hidden bosses, and Sjur Eido's statue. Quest flow has changed before, so follow the live quest log.
Pit of Heresy Rune towers, relic-sword counters, Ogre-tunnel orb doors, totem hold, Harrow symbol maze, Zulmak tower loop. Two secret chests plus the trap-door / Harrow route reads. Xenophage is a separate Moon quest route: lost-sector glyph puzzles, hidden Ogre-maze path, and the Volmar boss room inside Pit.
Prophecy Light/Dark mote creation, Toland cube reads, and Kell Echo room cleansing with Dark Entropy pressure. Two secret chests and the Urn It collectible route. Old Savathun's Eye-era notes are legacy context, not a current route. No dungeon exotic — Prophecy's draw is its weapon/armor set, not an exotic chase.
Grasp of Avarice Burdened by Riches banking, Scorch Cannon batteries, sparrow mines, Servitor cannons, and Avarokk engram phases. Hidden chests plus Wilhelm-7 message bottles for the Richest Dead Man Alive triumph. Gjallarhorn quest is separate from the clear; its catalyst uses three Reaver Vandal / chest checks during the dungeon.
Duality Bell realm swaps, Nightmare timer discipline, Standard collection, vault symbol doors, and Caiatl bell damage. Secret chests plus 12 Repressed Memories for Mind Heist and drop-boost progress. Heartshadow catalyst requires owning the sword, defeating three hidden Nightmares, dunking their Standard Essences, and opening the catalyst chest.
Spire of the Watcher Arctrician circuits, yellow node-to-conduit paths, Akelous fuel rods, Persys red door/yellow reactor routing. Two secret chests plus six Devilish Recordings for Devil in the Details. Hierarchy of Needs drops from Persys; the catalyst has historically come from Master completion, not a separate hidden puzzle.
Ghosts of the Deep Deepsight rune read, Vestige of Light kills, underwater routing, Ecthar/Simmumah symbol deposits. Memory of Darkness collectibles and long oxygen-route reads through the Arcology. The Navigator catalyst route uses dead-Ghost piles, Vestige deposits, and hidden boss spawns.
Warlord's Ruin Cage eye breakouts, Taken totem claims, Biting Cold cleanses, Solar-charge braziers, and Hefnd floor rotations. Prison-cell cog puzzle, Hefnd bones, hidden rooms, Dark Ether Tinctures, and Blighted Wishing Glass for the quest chain. Buried Bloodline catalyst follows In the Shadow of the Mountain, then three Taken-blight / torch / totem puzzles and a secret boss.
Vesper's Host Scanner, Operator, Suppressor handoffs, Raneiks number reads, nuclear cores, radiation, and Puppeteer floor control. Rogue Network messages, keypad rooms, class-item code steps, and secret room unlocks. Ice Breaker catalyst is a Rogue Network-adjacent code/crystal puzzle after ownership; exact code state is checkpoint-sensitive.
Sundered Doctrine Light-beam routing, symbol wheels, Knowledge banking, truth-vs-lie glyph reads, and Kerrev's shield break. Two secret chests, mini lens links, worm/chess-style quest reads, and Hidden base-camp code steps. Finality's Auger catalyst/focusing is tied to a multi-step Drowning Labyrinth quest.
Equilibrium Gathering Shadow ladder, Harvester arrays, Harrow fuse/generator setup, and Sere Compel loops. Two secret chests and any Shadow-platform side rooms. Heirloom catalyst comes through The Way Between; the exact quest, drop, and puzzle steps follow the in-game objective.
Use this like a pre-run manifest: if a fireteam is doing an exotic catalyst, collectible triumph, or secret chest sweep, plan that route before launch. Those steps are the ones most likely to be quest-state gated, checkpoint-sensitive, or changed by Bungie.

02 - Rewards

The 2026 loot reality

Monument of Triumph changed the value calculation for old dungeons. The encounter mechanics did not all become new, but the reward model did.

Featured weeks are the farm

Two dungeons are featured each week. Featured: Standard and Master drop Tier 5 weapons and armor; the Director challenge and hidden chests drop Tier 5 on a weekly lockout. Not featured: Standard drops Tier 3 weapons and armor; Master still drops Tier 5.

Mechanics age better than weapons

The core dungeon verbs are stable: motes, bells, augments, symbols, circuits, relics. Exact DPS picks and god rolls are not stable.

Default loadout: one boss-damage plan, one add-clear engine, and one survival tool. Swap the names season by season; keep the jobs.

Monument baseline: last gameplay patch Update 9.7.0.3 (2026-07-07). Update 9.7.0.4 (2026-07-28) shipped without notes; Update 9.7.0.5 (2026-10-07) is an anti-cheat back-end fix only. Checked 2026-10-08. This page treats Equilibrium as the newest dungeon and the roster as 11 dungeons.
